Workforce Development
AGC Arkansas actively promotes workforce development by partnering with key organizations dedicated to preparing the next generation of construction professionals.
Through our collaboration with the Arkansas Construction Education Foundation (ACEF), the largest and most comprehensive apprenticeship program in the state, we support high-quality training and programs that equip individuals with essential skills for the industry and job opportunities with our member companies.
Alongside the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, we co-created the Be Pro Be Proud (BPBP) initiative in 2016. BPBP visits schools statewide with two 53ft-tractor trailers filled with VR modules representing each of the construction industry trades, with the goal being to get kids interested in technical professions using fun and interactive experiences. It was created to change the public’s perception of skilled labor careers to help grow the future workforce in construction.
Our partnership with SkillsUSA allows us to foster competitive excellence in construction-related disciplines among high school and post-secondary students.
Additionally, by supporting collegiate student chapters across the state, AGC Arkansas cultivates leadership, connects students with industry professionals, and ensures a strong talent pipeline for the future.
