Registration is now open for our 2nd Annual NWA Steak Cookoff on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 10am - 4pm at Road Hog RV Park: 1159 W 15th St, Fayetteville, AR. 

$250 per team of 2 (includes 2 steaks and 2 raffle tickets). Any additional team members or guests are $50 each (includes steak, beverages, raffle ticket).

Sponsorships are available. Registration must be completed by May 7.

AGC NWA BBQ COOK OFF | RULES & SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

RULES:

1. Teams must bring EVERYTHING they need to cook a steak except the steak itself. Teams may cook

on any surface or grill they prefer: charcoal/gas/wood/electric, anything goes!

2. We will provide two 1.25 inch choice ribeye steaks for each team. Teams are to provide ice

chests for steak storage. No other ribeye steak is to be present at the cook site other than the

provided by us. You may grill other meats or cook other items for guests to taste, but only OUR

ribeye must be turned in to compete.

3. Steak selection will be conducted by a lottery at the cook’s meeting at 10am. During steak

selection cookers will get to choose the two steaks they want, cookers may not touch the steaks

to choose. Must choose in under 30 seconds or the selection will be made for you.

4. Each team is required to have some type of fire extinguishing device in their cook site.

5. Steaks may not be removed from your numbered cooking area except to turn in your entry.

6. Steaks will be judged with regard to Taste, Texture, Appearance, Doneness and Overall

Impression. First, Second, and Third Place trophies will be awarded at the end.

7. Steaks must be cooked Medium (warm pink center).

8. Steaks may be lightly trimmed before, but not after, cooking.

9. This event will be judged by a panel of judges and will be in a "blind judging" format.

10. Competition steaks must be submitted in the provided containers. Steaks may not be marked in

any way (except for grill marks). No garnish is allowed. Steaks must be turned in whole and uncut.

11. Turn-in time will be between 2 & 2:30pm – Steaks turned in after the deadline will NOT be judged.

12. Taste is the first tie breaker and doneness is the second tie breaker.

13. HAVE FUN!!! This is an amateur cook off for fun. Please don’t cheat and make it weird.

10am: Cook’s Meeting to review rules & choose steaks

11am: Cooking/Networking/Tasting/Drinking

2 – 2:30pm: Steaks must be turned into judges

3:30pm: Door Prizes & Awards
