The mission of 2003 Arkansas AGC President, Lynn Heller, was to increase the member services that the association provides to its members in the burgeoning area of northwest Arkansas.  To begin the process of reaching this mission the AGC held a northwest Arkansas kickoff event on January 15, 2004.  The event experienced an outstanding turn-out and as a result a task force was formed to guide the development of the AGC events in northwest Arkansas.

The Northwest Arkansas Organizational Task Force developed a plan that was sub sequentially approved by the AGC Executive Committee.  The plan was as follows: hold two membership luncheon, hold a construction industry celebration, establish a legislative subcommittee and have a member of the task force give an update at the quarterly meetings of the AGC Board of Directors.  The AGC now holds events on a near bi-monthly basis in northwest Arkansas.

A long range plan task force (below) was formed at the 2006 AGC strategic planning session to develop a long range plan for the AGC in northwest Arkansas.  The task force presented a plan concerning a AGC's increased presence in NWA to the board of directors at the final board meeting of 2007.  The main result was that Bill Barfield, based out of Bella Vista, was hired as AGC's NWA Manager beginning on February 1, 2008.
