State Advocacy

The Arkansas AGC vigorously promotes and protects the construction industry through its governmental relations efforts. The Arkansas AGC Legislative Committee that is chaired by Mark Lamberth of Atlas Asphalt sets the agenda for the chapter's legislative and regulatory efforts. The chapter's staff and members then see that agenda through to its end.
During the regular session the AGC Legislative Committee meets every Monday at 4:00PM to determine the chapter’s positions on construction related bills and to determine the strategy to be taken. Home for the AGC legislative efforts is the AGC apartment (pictured below) located across the street from the Arkansas State Capitol.
The AGC Highway Division works directly with the Arkansas State Highway & Transportation Department (AHTD) through a signed partnership to help to assure the best road and bridges possible for the citizens of Arkansas. Additionally, it also works closely with the Arkansas General Assembly through the AGC Legislative Committee to assure proper infrastructure funding in Arkansas.
